Olympic Mountain Biking Overview

Mountain biking has only been an Olympic event since . Riders negotiate a course through the countryside with challenging terrain including hills and ditches. The men's course is between 40 and 50 kilometers in length and the women's is between 30 and 40 kilometers. Racers start the race together and race a set number of laps with the winner being the first to cross the finish line.
