Olympic Rhythmic Gymnastics Overview
Rhythmic gymnastics combines aspects of ballet, dance and gymnastics along with the manipulation of various apparatus like the rope, hoop, ball, club or ribbon. Rhythmic gymnastics is a women's sport only at the Olympics. Participants are judged for leaps, balances, pirouettes, flexibilities, apparatus handling, execution, and artistic effect and given a score with the one with the highest score being awarded the gold medal.
