Olympic Tennis Overview

Tennis has been a part of the modern Olympic Games since they started in 1896 but it was dropped from the schedule after the 1924 competition. It returned as a full event in Seoul in 1988 and has been every Games since then. Four gold medals will be awarded for men's and women's singles and doubles. Since the Games in 2004, results from Olympic tennis have counted towards both the ATP and WTP world rankings and the world's best players participate.
