Driving

driving in london

Driving in London is a bad idea at the best of times and, during the Olympics, things won't be any better. The city of London charges a flat fee called a congestion charge for vehicles that enter the city centre. At 8 a pop, to say the fee is steep is an understatement and there are plans to raise it to 10 soon. Parking is also an issue in London with few spaces and those that are available costing a lot.

It's the goal of Olympic organizers to have 100% of spectators at the London Games arriving by public transport which will probably mean a lot of road closures and stronge encouragement against driving.
